Apartments, movies and doggie treats

We've been busy going to apartment viewings. It is surprisingly easy for us to get viewings, but it is not easy to actually get an apartment. We have now seen several really nice places, and we have applied for three of them. It might be that we get one of them, it might be that we don't get any of them. With a little bit of luck we will find out by the end of this week if one of these three places will be ours. If not, we will have to keep on looking. We still have time, but it is getting a bit nerve-wracking. One of the apartments we saw had a super nice kitchen and even more super nice huge roof terrace. It would be awesome during summertime as it would act as the second living room. With adding some lights this would be the coolest place ever. 

Other than that we have also been to the movies. We saw Venom. It was pretty cool, but for me it was too long and way too thin. I don't care if the script has holes size of a tank, but when the beginning is stretched until half of the movie is done and the end climax just comes along, it's just too thin for me. 

All the doggie treats were running low and I had to order supplies. I might have gone slightly overboard with how much to order.

Olemme olleet kiireisiä käydessämme asuntonäytöissä. On yllättävän helppoa saada näyttöjä, mutta itse asunnon saaminen ei ole helppoa. Olemme nähneet useita todella kivoja paikkoja, ja olemme hakeneet kolmea niistä. Voi olla että saamme jonkin niistä, voi olla ettemme saa yhtään niistä. Jos olemme onnekkaita, saamme tietää tämän viikon loppuun mennessä mikäli jokin näistä kolmesta paikasta on meidän. Jos ei, meidän täytyy jatkaa etsimistä. Meillä on vielä aikaa, mutta tämä on hieman hermostuttavaa. Yhdessä asunnoista jonka näimme oli todella kiva keittiö ja vielä kivempi iso kattoterassi. Se olisi kesäaikaan aivan mahtava sillä se toimisi toisena olohuoneena. Varsinkin jos sinne lisäisi valoja, siitä tulisi siistein paikka ikinä. 

Sen lisäksi olemme käyneet elokuvissa. Kävimme katsomassa Venomin. Se oli ihan ok, mutta minulle se oli liian pitkä ja liian ohut. En välitä vaikka käsikirjoituksessa on tankin kokoisia reikiä, mutta silloin kun alku on venytetty puolen elokuvan mittaiseksi ja loppukliimaksi vain tapahtuu, se on minulle liian ohut. 

Kaikki koirien namit olivat lopussa ja niitä piti tilata lisää. Saattaa olla, että tilasin vähän liikaa. 

Little bit o' holidays

I've been enjoying a little bit of holidays. Wednesday was a bank holiday here in Germany, and I took Thursday and Friday off to get a long weekend. As my man traveled to Finland to spend time with his friends, I've had me -time. I made myself new nails. I'm not very happy of the end result. It is peacock what I had in mind, but still somehow it doesn't please me at all. Luckily I do have a plan for the next nails already, so hopefully I'll do better then.

Since we are going to move by the end of the year, I went to Ikea and Mömax to check out what do they have to offer. Since my man absolutely hates browsing in furniture stores, and I absolutely love it, I chose to go on my own. We will need something new anyways, and Mömax was a very pleasant surprise. It's German version of Ikea, and I have to say I liked it a little bit more than Ikea and I love Ikea. I also went to a new fabric store that I just recently learned exists here. It was big, bigger than I expected, but still no match for Eurokangas back home. 

I also met my Finnish friend for a coffee and catching up. 

We've been going to some new apartment viewings too. We actually just recently discovered that we could rent a house too! The reason why we haven't been looking at houses before is simply because we didn't realize that when searching for homes, you need to do a separate search for apartments and houses each. So, we went to see this one house in great location that is fresh out from renovation. We had high hopes but oh boy. It took me right back to Bogenhausen, the shitty apartment I lived for 1,5 years and it almost made me sick. It was renovated, fair enough. However the quality of renovation was unbelievably bad. When the walls had been painted, nothing had been covered. So all the electric sockets, shelves, whatnot were covered in paint too.  I'm not a painter by profession, but man I would've made some amazing job compared to this. The owner had made the decision of leaving all the old doors in place. Old, dark brown and broken doors! Also the old closets in the walk-in-closet and downstairs were there. Remember how our grannies used to cover the shelves with shelf paper? That's what they chose to keep here too. And everything was dark brown. The owner had also made a very weird decision of combining two bathrooms into one massively huge causing the whole house having only one bathroom. Super weird. And the bathroom was tiled with darkish brown tiles. It was just too much. Oh and the electricity was kept as it had been, so this massive huge bathroom only had one socket for a lamp in the ceiling. Shower was in a corner with no light. The house did have a huge winter garden, and a functioning fireplace, and a big yard, but everything else... Good luck with finding someone to rent it. 

And since we all have to wear our badges at work, also the hardworking four legged ones got their own!

Olen nauttinut pienestä lomasta. Keskiviikko oli pyhäpäivä täällä Saksassa, ja otin torstain ja perjantain vapaaksi nauttiakseni pitkästä viikonlopusta. Koska mieheni matkusti Suomeen viettääkseen aikaa ystäviensä kanssa, minulla oli minä -aikaa. Tein itselleni uudet kynnet. En ole kovin tyytyväinen lopputulokseen. Mielessäni oli riikinkukko, mutta jotenkin en yhtään tykkää. Onneksi minulla on suunnitelma seuraaviin kynsiin valmiina, joten toivottavasti silloin onnistun paremmin. 

Koska muutamme vuoden loppuun mennessä, kävin Ikeassa ja Mömaxissa katsomassa mitä on tarjolla. Mieheni todella inhoaa huonekalukaupoissa käyntiä, ja minä taas todella rakastan sitä, päätin mennä keskenäni. Tarvitsemme jotain uutta joka tapauksessa, ja Mömax oli todella miellyttävä yllätys. Se on saksalainen versio Ikeasta, ja on sanottava että pidin siitä vähän enemmän kuin Ikeasta ja minähän rakastan Ikeaa. Kävin myös uudessa kangaskaupassa jonka olemassaolosta kuulin aivan hiljattain. Se oli iso, isompi kuin odotin, mutta ei silti pärjää Eurokankaalle kotona. 

Tapasin myös suomalaisen ystäväni kahvikupillisen ja kuulumisten vaihtamisen ääressä. 

Olemme myös käyneet muutamassa uudessa asuntonäytössä. Tajusimme vasta hiljattain että mehän voimme vuokrata myös talon! Syy siihen miksi emme ole taloja aiemmin katsoneet, on yksinkertaisesti se, ettemme tajunneet asuntoja etsiessämme että asuntoja ja taloja varten pitää tehdä erilliset haut. Niinpä kävimme katsomassa yhtä taloa joka oli hyvällä sijainnilla ja juuri valmistunut remontista. Meillä oli korkeat toiveet, mutta voi pojat. Talo vei minut takaisin Bogenhauseniin, siihen kuppaiseen asuntoon jossa asuin 1,5v ja rupesin melkein voimaan pahoin. Talo oli remontoitu, myönnettäköön. Remontin taso oli kuitenkin luokattoman huono. Kun seinät oli maalattu, ei mitään oltu suojattu. Joten kaikki sähköpistokkeet, hyllyt, mitälie oli maalattu päältä. En ole ammattimaalari, mutta olisin tehnyt mahtavaa työtä tähän verrattuna. Omistaja oli päättänyt jättää kaikki vanhat ovet paikoilleen. Vanhat, tummanruskeat, rikkinäiset ovet! Myös vanhat kaapit vaatehuoneessa ja alakerrassa olivat paikoillaan. Muistatteko kuinka isoäitimme peittivät hyllyt hyllypaperilla? Ne hyllypaperit oli täällä päätetty säilyttää. Ja kaikki oli tummanruskeaa. Omistaja oli myös tehnyt todella omituisen päätöksen yhdistää kaksi kylpyhuonetta yhdeksi jättimäiseksi aiheuttaen sen että koko talossa on vain yksi kylpyhuone. Todella omituista. Ja kylpyhuone oli laatoitettu tummahkon ruskeilla laatoilla. Se oli vain aivan liikaa. Niin ja sähköjä ei oltu uusittu, joten tässä valtavan kokoisessa kylpyhuoneessa oli van yksi pistoke katossa kattovalolle. Suihku oli nurkassa ilman mitään valoa. Talossa oli iso lasitettu terassi, toimiva takka ja iso piha, mutta kaikki muu... Onnea vuokralaisen löytymiseen. 

Ja koska meidän kaikkien täytyy käyttää tunnuskorttiamme töissä, myös ahkerat nelijalkaiset saivat omansa!
