Edmonton

We arrived to Edmonton and it was freezing - 21 degrees below zero! Our flight was badly delayed, there was a lot of small things going against us and for a moment I started thinking if we will ever make it. In the end we did, and as it was Christmas, we opened the Christmas presents. Even I got some!

As I have been in Edmonton few times before, we have concentrated mostly on eating. And shopping. I found few pairs of shoes that will deserve a post of their own. But what it comes to eating, there have been diners, make your own pizza, hamburgers, crepes, waffles, pastries... Burp.

I have also been getting some chihuahua therapy :)

Yes, the last white fluffy one clearly is not chihuahua, but a very cute and sweet little boy who is looking for his forever home. I do hope he will find a good home - he does need a little special attention, but I'm sure he will make someone very happy.

Saavuimme Edmontoniin ja sää oli jäätävä - pakkasta 21 astetta! Lentomme oli pahasti myöhässä, moni pieni asia meni pieleen ja hetken aikaa jo ehdin ajatella että pääsemmekö me ikinä perille. Loppujen lopuksi pääsimme, ja koska oli joulu, avasimme joululahjat. Jopa minä sain joitakin lahjoja! 

Koska olen ollut Edmontonissa joitakin kertoja aiemminkin, olemme keskittyneet enimmäkseen syömiseen. Ja shoppailuun. Löysin muutaman parin kenkiä jotka ansaitsevat oman päivityksen. Mutta mitä tulee syömiseen, on ollut dinereita, tee itse oma pizzasi, hampurilaisia, krepejä, vohveleita, leivonnaisia... Röyhtäys. 

Olen saanut myös hieman chihuterapiaa :)

Kyllä, valkoinen pörrökasa ei selkeästi ole chihuahua, vaan erittäin suloinen ja ihana pieni poika joka etsii loppuelämän kotiaan. Toivon että hyvä sellainen löytyy - hän tarvitsee hieman erikoishuomiota, mutta olen varma että hän tekee jonkun erittäin onnelliseksi.

Shows, sceneries and desserts

We had a blast in Las Vegas. We did a little bit of shopping, went to two evening shows and enjoyed the surroundings. Due to holiday season all the prices were double or even tripled, so our original plan of going to different buffets didn't really work because we didn't want to spend a small fortune for a dinner buffet.

My favorite show was this time too the Tournament of Kings.

We also went to see Cirque De Soleil's "O". 

More crepes and apple sensations. 

Palmtrees, water fountains, neon lights, all the visual... As a tourist I took tourist photos. 

My absolute favourite thing to see in Vegas are however the dancing water fountains of Bellagio. Pure magic. 

My friend found a photobomber inside of her. 

As all good things must come to an end, so did our time in Las Vegas come to en and and it was time to head to Edmonton.

Meillä oli hauskaa Las Vegasissa. Shoppailtiin, menimme kahteen iltashowhun ja nautimme ympäristöstä. Lomakauden takia kaikki hinnat olivat tuplattu tai jopa triplattu joten alkuperäinen suunnitelmamme eri buffeteissa käymisestä ei oikein toiminut koska emme halunneet tuhlata pientä omaisuutta illallisbuffettiin.

Suosikkishowni oli tälläkin kertaa Tournament of Kings.

Kävimme myös katsomassa Cirque De Soleilin "O". 

Lisää krepejä ja omenaherkkuja. 

Palmuja, suihkulähteitä, neonvaloja, kaikki visuaalisuus... Turistina otin turistikuvia.

Ehdottomasti suosikkinähtävyyteni Las Vegasissa on kuitenkin Bellagion tanssivat suihkulähteet. Silkkaa magiaa.

Ystäväni löysi itsestään kuvapommittajan.

Koska kaikki hyvä loppuu aikanaan, niin myös aikamme Las Vegasissa tuli päätökseen ja oli aika suunnata Edmontoniin.

Merry Christmas from Las Vegas!

I landed safe and sound to Las Vegas. Changing planes in Amsterdam was a nightmare - I didn't have too much time in the beginning with, and ended up running to the gate like demons were at my heels. They closed the gate after two minutes I got on, and departed immediately. I had my Love Socks with me to keep me warm.

The border control when arriving to US was one of the worst organized I've seen in my life, but I did make it to my connecting flight in time. After that arriving to Las Vegas was easy peasy and even my luggage made it. 

Las Vegas has been my favourite place to visit since my first visit here eight years ago. This is my fourth time, and I simply love the place. I love the neon lights, the shopping possibilities and the shows in the evenings. I love how superficial this place is! After arriving and getting to the hotel, me and my friend went for crepes. I have visited this Crazy Crepes few times, and luckily some things don't change!

First evening was a tough call to stay awake, but I managed somehow. 

Our hotel for the visit is Treasure Island. 

On the first day we went for a breakfast buffet. Damn it was filling. We took our time and ended up staying there for two hours. Eating. Burp. 

Then it was just walking around and enjoying the atmosphere and surroundings.  

Merry Christmas to you all! I wish good fortunes for us all, and for me personally I wish calm after the storm - calm winds and smooth seas.

Laskeuduin turvallisesti Las Vegasiin. Koneenvaihto Amsterdamissa oli painajaismainen - minulla ei ollut alun alkaenkaan paljoa vaihtoaikaa, ja päädyin juoksemaan portille kuin paholaiset olisivat olleet kantapäilläni. Portti suljettiin kaksi minuuttia saapumiseni jälkeen, ja kone lähti matkaan samantien. Minulla oli Rakkaussukkani pitämässä minut lämpimänä. 

Rajanylitys Yhdysvaltoihin saapumisen jälkeen oli eittämättä yksi huonoiten järjestetty ikinä, mutta ehdin kuin ehdinkin jatkolennolle ajoissa. Sen jälkeen saapuminen Las Vegasiin oli lasten leikkiä ja jopa matkalaukkuni saapui perille.

Las Vegas on ollut lempipaikkani aina ensimmäisestä matkastani kahdeksan vuotta sitten. Tämä on neljäs kertani, ja yksinkertaisesti rakastan tätä kaupunkia. Rakastan neonvaloja, shoppailumahdollisuuksia ja iltashowta. Rakastan sitä kuinka pinnallinen tämä paikka on! Sen jälkeen kun saavuin hotellille menimme ystäväni kanssa krepeille. Olen käynyt Crazy Crepessä muutaman kerran, ja onneksi jotkut asiat eivät muutu! 

Ensimmäisenä iltana oli vaikeaa pysyä hereillä, mutta jotenkin onnistuin. 

Yövymme Treasure Island -hotellissa. 

Ensimmäisenä päivänä menimme aamiaisbuffettiin. Hitto se oli täyttävää. Söimme rauhassa ja viivyimme kahden tunnin ajan. Syöden. Röyhtäys. 

Sitten vain kävelimme ympäriinsä ja nautimme ilmapiiristä ja ympäristöstä. 

Hyvää Joulua kaikille! Toivon onnea ja menestystä meille kaikille, ja minulle henkilökohtaisesti tyyntä myrskyn jälkeen - rauhallisia tuulia ja lempeitä vesiä.

Las Vegas, baby!

Since I have a dawning suspicion that I might not have time tomorrow evening to post anything due to packing, now it is time to reveal why my nails was even more blingy than usual: on Wednesday I will head for Las Vegas!! I am supermegahyper exited, as Las Vegas is absolutely my favourite place to visit. I am meeting one of my best friends over there, and we will have a blast. We will go to see Cirque De Soleil and my favourite, the tackiest show EVER, Tournament of Kings! And not to forget my forever-love: the dancing water fountains of Bellagio. After enjoying the sunshine of Las Vegas, we will again pack our packs and head to Edmonton where I will spend the New Year with my friend. Then after New Year it is time to get back to Germany and work again. Long awaited Christmas holiday is just around the corner!

Koska minulla on melkoinen aavistus ettei minulla ole ehkä huomenna illalla aikaa kirjoittaa päivitystä pakkaamisen johdosta, nyt on aika paljastaa miksi kynteni ovat normaaliakin blingisemmät: keskiviikkona suuntaan Las Vegasiin!! Olen supermegahyper innoissani, sillä onhan Las Vegas ehdottomasti suosikkipaikkani. Tapaan siellä yhden parhaimmista ystävistäni, ja meille tulee varmasti hauskaa. Menemme katsomaan Cirque De Soleilia ja suosikkiani, mauttominta showta IKINÄ, Tournament of Kings! Eikä sovi unohtaa ikuista rakkauttani: Bellagion tanssivat vesilähteet. Sen jälkeen kun olemme nauttineet Las Vegasin auringonpaisteesta, pakkaamme jälleen laukkumme ja suuntaamme Edmontoniin jossa vietän Uuden Vuoden ystäväni kanssa. Uuden Vuoden jälkeen on aika palata jälleen Saksaan ja töiden pariin. Kauan odotettu joululoma on ihan nurkan takana!

Bli-bling!

It was again time to do new nails. I have had the plan for these nails back in my mind since I did the previous nails. You will soon out the reason why these blingy nails :D

Jälleen oli aika tehdä uudet kynnet. Minulla on ollut suunitelma näihin kynsiin mieleni perukoilla siitä saakka kun tein edelliset kynnet. Saatte pian tietää miksi näin blingiset kynnet :D

Birthday party

Weekend in Finland was filled with action as was to be expected. Time flew past just by getting all the stuff in my shopping list, seeing friends and having a birthday party with a bunch of friends. Though it might be a little bit exaggerated to call the party as "party" since there was no alcohol involved and the last guests left before 11pm! But it was great to spend the evening with good friends and talk in Finnish. We had lots of good food.

Though it is possible that I went a little overboard with chips.

And of course we had glögiä and joulutorttuja. 

I even got few presents! One of the most amazing presents was a scarf that one of my friends knitted herself. Amazing! 

It looks really nice in use also. 

Thank you for standing by me all these years. Lets hope new year will bring with it smooth winds and calm waters.

Viikonloppu Suomessa oli täynnä toimintaa kuten oli odotettavissa. Aika kului vauhdilla hankkiessa ostokset, tavatessa ystäviä ja pitäen syntymäpäiväjuhlat ystävien kanssa. Tosin saattaa ehkä olla hieman liioiteltua kutsua juhlia "juhliksi" sillä mukana ei ollut lainkaan alkoholia ja viimeinenkin vieraista lähti ennen klo 23:ta! Oli mahtavaa viettää ilta hyvien ystävien kanssa ja puhua suomea. Meillä oli paljon hyvää ruokaa. 

Vaikka saatoin ehkä hieman liioitella perunalastujen kera. 

Ja tottakai meillä oli glögiä ja joulutorttuja. 

Sain jopa muutamia lahjoja! Yksi mahtavimmista lahjoista oli huivi jonka yksi ystävistäni oli neulonut itse. Mieletöntä!

Se näyttää myös käytössä todella nätiltä. 

Kiitos että olette seisseet tukenani kaikki nämä vuodet. Toivotaan että uusi vuosi tuo mukanaan leppeät tuulet ja rauhalliset vedet.
