Roadtrip to Italy - Lake Garda

So our very first holiday trip together started. As everything is so ridiculously close here in Munich, we decided to go for a roadtrip to Italy. We started our journey in bright sunshine.

Our first target was Lake Garda. Of course it is way more beautiful in summer, but it was easy to see the splendor through winter time as well. It had mountains, it had palm trees and it had turquoise waters. What more can you ask for?

The weather was not very good when we arrived and it kept on raining for one full day. As it was right after Christmas, there were lot of closed restaurants. We did find one called Joy's Place (Ristorante, Pizzeria, Bar) from a different village along the shoreline of Lake Garda, and it was a very good place. They had delicious pizza and pasta, owner spoke very good English and they were crazy friendly. We will definitely go there again the next time we visit Lake Garda. 

We had enough time at Lake Garda to play tourists, and so we strolled down to the old town of Sirmione. Very nice, and again some good pizza for lunch. 

Our hotel was located right on the shoreline and although it had a small bathroom, it was very nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay tremendously. 

Right on the day we were leaving Lake Garda, it started shining. It was crazy windy and cold, but it did change the colors of the waters entirely.

Niin alkoi meidän ensimmäinen lomamme yhdessä. Koska kaikki on niin naurettavan lähellä Müncheniä, päätimme lähteä roadtripille Italiaan. Aloitimme matkalle kirkkaassa auringonpaisteessa. 

Ensimmäinen kohteemme oli Garda-järvi. Tottakai se on paljon kauniimpi kesällä, mutta oli helppo nähdä paikan upeus talven läpi. Siellä on vuoria, siellä on palmuja ja siellä on turkoosit vedet. Mitä muuta voit pyytää?

Sää ei ollut kovin hyvä kun saavuimme ja sade jatkui kokonaisen päivän ajan. Koska oli juuri Joulun jälkeen, suurin osa ravintoloista oli suljettu. Löysimme yhden nimeltä Joy's Place (Ristorante, Pizzeria, Bar) eri kylästä Garda-järven rannalta, ja se oli erittäin hyvä paikka. Pizza oli herkullista, samoin pasta, omistaja puhui erittäin hyvää englantia ja oli todella ystävällinen. Menemme sinne ehdottomasti uudestaan kun käymme Garda-järvellä seuraavan kerran.

Meillä oli tarpeeksi aikaa Garda-järvellä leikkiäksemme turisteja, ja niinpä kävelimme Sirmionen vanhaan kaupunkiin. Oikein kaunista, ja jälleen hyvää pizzaa lounaaksi. 

Hotellimme oli juuri rannalla ja vaikka kylpyhuone olikin pieni, hotelli oli oikein hyvä. Nautimme vierailustamme suunnattomasti. 

Juuri lähtöpäivänämme aurinko alkoi paistamaan. Tuuli oli todella voimakas ja kylmä, mutta se muutti veden värit täysin.
