Sunny day

Yesterday was very sunny and hot day. I started the day with making new nails.

Then us girls went to visit a friend who will take care of my chihuahuas when I'm traveling in mid-August, and she also has a chihuahua. My plan was to bike there, being sunny and all, but of course of all days today I had a flat tire. So we took a tram instead - my always faithful traveling buddies with me. 

I also got extremely beautiful photos from my mysterious man that he took, being a photographer, the last time we met.

Eilen oli kuuma ja aurinkoinen päivä. Aloitin päivän tekemällä uudet kynnet.

Sitten me tytöt lähdimme vierailemaan ystävän luona joka huolehtii chihuistani sillä aikaa kun matkustan puolivälissä elokuuta, ja ystävällä on myös chihuahua. Suunnitelmanani oli pyöräillä sinne, kun kerran oli aurinkoistakin, mutta tottakai kaikista mahdollisista päivistä juuri tänään kumi puhkesi. Sen sijaan otimme ratikan - aina uskolliset matkakaverini mukana.

Sain myös erittäin kauniita valokuvia mysteerimieheltäni jotka hän otti, valokuvaaja kun on, viimeksi kun tapasimme.

Short and sweet

As the title says, this post is short and sweet. Me and my mysterious man had our date, and he liked my salad very much. Even though my kitchen almost took the better of me.

His craziness matches my craziness and we are both slightly off. He is quicksilver, and he makes me laugh. I had to come all the way to Germany to find him, but here he was.

Kuten otsikko sanoo, tämä postaus on lyhyt ja söpö. Minulla ja mysteerimiehellä oli treffit, ja hän piti salaatistani todella paljon. Vaikka keittiöni melkein veikin voiton. 

Hänen sekopäisyytensä täsmää omani kanssa, ja olemme molemmat vähän vinksahtaneita. Hän on elohopeaa, ja hän saa minut nauramaan. Minun piti tulla Saksaan saakka löytääkseni hänet, mutta täällä hän oli. 

Groceries

I have lots of opinions, and I am not ashamed to voice them out loud. First of all: this language is not fit for a human being. My english is pretty good, but there is no way on earth that my tongue would ever learn to pronounce this language. Seriously, if aliens ever invade earth, I hope they will start with Germany because they would at least have a common language.

Another thing. How difficult it can be to find water from a grocery store? Obviously extremely - if I would've been happy with beer, no problem. But since I wanted water, just plain and simple water, it got a hole lot more complicated. And no, I can't drink the tap water because the pipes are so old at my building that the water tastes strange. And there is occasionally stuff in it. I don't know what it is, but it sure as hell ain't making me drink it.

And the grocery store. I honestly thought before coming here that it can't be that difficult to get stuff, even though I don't speak the language. Well. I stand corrected. I needed help just to be able to get some chicken. And then I needed again help to get honey. Goddamn irritating. I normally don't mind at all doing groceries, I find it quite fun actually, but here I can't even understand the labels. I avoid going to the grocery store to the last possible moment.

But, in the end I got what I needed. I think. It remains to be seen since tomorrow I'm gonna cook for the very first time here. Well, cook and cook, prepare a salad, but it does involve frying some chicken in the pan :D And why I cook? We have a date, me and this mysterious man and I volunteered to cook :)

Minulla on paljon mielipiteitä, enkä arastele niiden sanomista ääneen. Ensinnäkin: tämä kieli ei ole sopiva ihmiselle. Englantini on aika hyvää, mutta ei ole mitään jakoa että kieleni taipuisi ikinä lausumaan tätä kieltä. Oikeasti, jos alienit ikinä valtaavat Maan, toivon että ne aloittavat Saksasta sillä ainakin niillä olisi yhteinen kieli.

Toinen asia. Miten vaikeaa voi olla löytää vettä ruokakaupasta? Ilmeisesti erittäin - jos olisin tyytynyt olueen, ei hätää. Mutta koska halusin vettä, ihan tavallista vettä, asioista tulikin paljon monimutkaisempia. Ja ei, en voi juoda hanavettä sillä taloni putket ovat niin vanhat että vesi maistuu oudolta. Ja joskus sen joukossa on jotain kamaa. En tiedä mitä se on, mutta ainakaan se ei saa minua juomaan sitä.

Ja ruokakauppa. Ihan oikeasti ajattelin ennen tänne tuloani että kuinka vaikeaa voi olla löytää tavarat vaikken puhukaan kieltä. No. Olin väärässä. Tarvitsin apua voidakseni ostaa kanaa. Ja sitten tarvitsin apua löytääkseni hunajan. Hiton ärsyttävää. Normaalisti ruokaostosten teko on minusta aika hauskaa hommaa, mutta täällä en ymmärrä edes etikettejä. Vältänkin ruokakauppaan menoa viimeiseen hetkeen saakka.

Mutta, loppujen lopuksi sain sen mitä tarvitsin. Luulisin. Se jää nähtäväksi sillä huomenna aion tehdä ruokaa täällä ensimmäistä kertaa. No, tehdä ruokaa ja tehdä ruokaa, valmistaa salaatin, mutta siihen liittyy kanan paistamista pannulla :D Ja miksi teen ruokaa? Koska meillä on treffit, minulla ja tällä salaperäisellä miehellä ja tarjouduin vapaaehtoiseksi laittamaan ruokaa :)

Ja kuten ennenkin, Hirmu sanoo kaikille heippa nauttien joka-aamuisesta rituaalistaan - masurapsuista <3

Finland

It was a very busy weekend back in Finland as I suspected. I spent time with friends, did tons of laundry and went to the movies. I also fulfilled my duty and brought back lots of Finnish chocolate and licorice. On top of that I also packed my motorbike gear and took them with me.

In the movies it was latest Star Trek (kinda sucked), but we had fun. We also tested for the first time this brand new theater with new sound surround and all fancy stuff.

The second movie for the weekend was Tarzan. The sole reason to go watch that in the first place was to see Alexander in minimum clothes. Well. He wore clothes almost the whole movie, and when he finally took his shirt off, no loincloth but pants. I am not pleased. 

It's quite clear that I have to find a solution for doing my laundry in Finland. I just can't drag a luggage heavy as hell filled with dirty laundry with me to Finland and back to Germany with clean laundry. It just doesn't work out. 

But the girls are very experienced travelers. They seem to be happy, as long as they have me as their companion. Best traveling buddies <3

New date have also been settled, so it's gonna be an interesting week.  I really can't wait. And yes, he reads my blog also ;) I hope he likes the chocolate and licorice I brought to him!

Viikonloppu Suomessa oli kovin kiireinen kuten arvelinkin. Vietin aikaa ystävien kanssa, pesin tonneittain likapyykkiä ja kävin elokuvissa. Täytin myös velvollisuuteni ja toin paljon suomalaista suklaata ja lakritsia. Sen lisäksi pakkasin mukaani myös prätkäkamppeeni.

Leffassa vuorossa oli uusin Star Trek (aika huono), mutta meillä oli hauskaa. Testasimme myös ensimmäistä kertaa uusittua salia uudella äänentoistojärjestelmällä ja muilla vekottimilla.

Viikonlopun toinen elokuva oli Tarzan. Ainoa syy mennä katsomaan koko leffaa alun alkaenkin oli nähdä Alexander vähissä vaatteissa. No. Hän käytti vaatteita lähes koko elokuvan ajan, ja kun lopulta otti paidan pois, housut jäivät eikä ollut lannevaatetta. En ole tyytyväinen.

On varsin selvää että pyykinpesulle Suomessa täytyy löytyä ratkaisu. En vaan voi raahata edestakaisin helvetin painavaa matkalaukkua mukanani likapyykki Suomeen ja puhtaat pyykit Saksaan. Se ei vaan toimi. 

Mutta tytöt ovat hyvin kokeneita matkustajia. Ne vaikuttavat onnellisilta niin kauan kuin minä olen vierellä. Parhaat matkakaverit <3

Uudet treffitkin on jo sovittu, joten viikosta tulee mielenkiintoinen. En oikeasti malta odottaa. Ja kyllä, hän myös lukee blogiani ;) Toivon että hän pitää suklaasta ja lakritsista jotka toin! 

Busy days

So, my friend from Finland has left back to her home and I stayed behind. I was in truth little worried how empty my life would feel once there is no one speaking Finnish with me and bringing a piece of home to me. To my surprise I have not had time to feel loneliness at all.

Days have been busy at work, and - can you believe it - I GOT MY GERMAN SIM-CARD. Yes, this demands capital letters. It's been up and running since yesterday and seems that it actually works. To my astonishment.

On Friday I'm also leaving again to Finland. To see family and friends, to do some laundry (yes, laundry) and just visiting home. This time it will happen with a little bit different note since I have an order to bring Finnish chocolate and licorice to my date.

And yes, you read it right: my date is very strongly in the picture. Lets see what the future brings for us, but it might be that I've found something very special. And on top of it all he just loves my new hair!

Ystäväni Suomesta on lähtenyt takaisin kotiinsa ja minä jäin jälkeen. Rehellisyyden nimissä olin vähän huolissani siitä miten tyhjältä elämäni tuntuu sen jälkeen kun kukaan ei ole puhumassa suomea kanssani ja tuomassa mukanaan pienen palan kotia luokseni. Yllätyksekseni en ole ehtinyt tuntemaan oloani yksinäiseksi lainkaan.

Päivät ovat olleet töissä kiireisiä, ja - voitteko uskoa - SAIN SAKSALAISEN SIM-KORTTINI. Kyllä, tämä vaatii isoja kirjaimia. Se on ollut toiminnassa eilisestä saakka ja näyttää siltä että se oikeasti toimii. Hämmästyksekseni.

Perjantaina lähden myös jälleen Suomeen. Tapaamaan perhettä ja ystäviä, pesemään pyykkiä (kyllä, pyykkiä) ja vain vierailemaan kotiin. Tällä kertaa reissussa on kuitenkin eri vire sillä minulla on määräys tuoda mukanani suomalaista suklaata ja lakritsia deittikumppanilleni.

Kyllä, luit oikein: deittikumppanini on erittäin vahvasti kuvioissa mukana. Katsotaan mitä tulevaisuus tuo meille mukanaan, mutta saattaa olla että olen löytänyt jotain todella erityistä. Ja kaiken sen lisäksi mies rakastaa uutta kampaustani!

Dachau

Today we went to the concentration camp of Dachau. In truth I was expecting a little "more" than just a couple of barracks in the field, but this is still one the grim examples that man is, simply and utterly, evil. Every single living soul should visit these sites and remember that it is the responsibility of a stronger to protect the weak, whether they are small or big, human or animal.

 Again we had the best possible traveling buddies with us.

We ended the day with a very good burger! What would anyone do without Google?!

And as I promised yesterday, it was the last photo of me having hair. I shaved it all off (well, up to 6mm) and bleached it. The old hair belonged to a different time, different world, different city, different woman. This is Me, with a capital M.

Tänään menimme Dachaun keskitysleirille. Rehellisyyden nimissä odotin jotain "enemmän" kuin muutamia parakkeja keskellä kenttää, mutta tämä on silti synkkä esimerkki siitä, että ihminen on, yksinkertaisesti ja täysin, paha. Jokaisen elävän sielun tulisi vierailla tällaisessa paikassa ja muistaa että on vahvemman vastuu suojella heikompaa, olipa ne isoja tai pieniä, ihmisiä tai eläimiä. 

Jälleen meillä oli mitä parhaimmat matkakumppanit. 

Päätimme päivän erittäin hyvään hampurilaiseen! Mitä kukaan enää tekisi ilman Googlea?!

Ja kuten lupasin eilen, se oli viimeinen kuva jossa minulla on hiuksia. Ajoin kaiken pois (no, aina 6mm saakka) ja valkaisin ne. Vanhat hiukset kuuluivat eri aikaan, eri maailmaan, eri kaupunkiin, eri naiselle. Tämä on Minä, isolla M:llä. 

Visitor

This has been a great weekend so far. I have one of my best friends visiting me from Finland, and yesterday we went for a pizza in my neighborhood restaurant.

Today we pretended (ha!) to be tourists and went to Marienplatz to do some shopping and just breathe in the atmosphere of an European city. I can't say I still like this place more than before, but at least I got to see more than combined in these past six and a half weeks. And I got brand new running gear as planned!

In the evening I wanted to try out this greek restaurant I got a hint of from my colleague. It was very good, very cheap and we had the best buddies to accompany us - Hirmu and Hannibal <3

Tämä on ollut mahtava viikonloppu tähän mennessä. Sain vieraakseni yhden parhaimmista ystävistäni Suomesta, ja eilen menimme pizzalle naapurustoni ravintolaan.

Tänään leikimme (ha!) olevamme turisteja ja menimme Marienplatzille ostoksille ja ihan vain hengittämään eurooppalaisen kaupungin ilmapiiriä. En voi sanoa että edelleenkään pitäisi tästä paikasta enemmän kuin ennen, mutta ainakin näin enemmän kuin yhteensä viimeisten kuuden ja puolen viikon aikana. Ja sain uudet juoksutamineet kuten suunnittelin!

Illalla halusin kokeilla erästä kreikkalaista ravintola josta sain vinkin työtoveriltani. Se oli erittäin hyvä, erittäin halpa ja meillä oli parhaat kaverit mukanamme - Hirmu ja Hannibal <3
